DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Zahara El-Zein of B-CU Tennis and
Maleek Huggins of B-CU Football have been named Wildcats of the Week for the week of September 15-21, 2025.
Sophomore
Zahara El-Zein made a strong run at the 2025 HBCU National Tennis Championships in Atlanta, Georgia. El-Zein produced a win over FAMU's Veronica Rodriguez her consolation bracket opener, while also claiming a win over Alcorn State's Natalija Nikolic as well. For her efforts, she earned a spot in the Flight A singles consolation final against Diana Cracuin.
Maleek Huggins led an excellent offensive effort for the Wildcats in their first win of the season over Edward Waters on Saturday. He hauled in six receptions for a career-high 177 yards and two touchdowns, including a career-long of 82 yards. Through just four games on the 2024 season, Huggins has surpassed his touchdown total from all of 2024. He has recorded two scores in each of the last two games after having no multi-touchdown games in 2024.
Each week, The Bethune-Cookman Office of Athletic Communications recognizes one male and one female student-athlete through the Wildcats of the Week award.
This award recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in competition, in the classroom, and in the community over the past week, exemplifying the Championship Culture of Wildcat Athletics.
