DAYTONA BEACH - Kailyn Peters finished with a season-high 20 points, but it wasn't enough as B-CU fell to Grambling State 67-60 at Moore Gymnasium.
 Header How it Happened

1st Quarter
Grambling State (5-12, 2-2) used strong shooting to build an early lead over Bethune-Cookman (3-13, 1-2). Despite shooting 0-for-5 from three-point range, the Tigers finished the quarter shooting 58.8% to just 35.7% for B-CU.

Rebounding was also a significant advantage for the Tigers, 11-5. They grabbed four offensive rebounds leading to eight second chance points.

2nd Quarter
The second was tightly contested as each team shot around 46% from the field. Both teams began to find their stroke from three as they combined for five three-pointers made in the quarter.

Grambling once again saw success on the offensive glass, collecting four more offensive boards. They led B-CU 35-26 going into halftime.

3rd Quarter
The Wildcats cut into the lead thanks to continued hot shooting from beyond the arc. B-CU made four of their seven three-point attempts to outscore the Tigers 19-16.

B-CU also held the rebounding advantage in the third, grabbing four offensive rebounds of their own. The lead for Grambling was just six going into the fourth.

4th Quarter
The story of the fourth was the Wildcats' defense as they held Grambling without a made field goal until 3:06 remaining. The lead was shaved down to one following a Jenessa Kelly three-pointer with 7:20 remaining.

Grambling was able to cling to a small lead throughout thanks to excellent free-throw shooting (12-for-14) and some key late-game shotmaking. Shaniah Nunn made a clutch jumper with 1:38 to extend the lead back to four.

The Tigers closed out the game on a 7-2 run, winning 67-70
