1st Quarter
Jackson State (5-14, 3-4) took control of the game early, holding Bethune-Cookman (3-17, 1-6) with just one field goal in the first eight minutes as part of an 18-2 run.
The Tigers were especially dominant on the glass, grabbing nine offensive rebounds leading to 11 more shot attempts than the Wildcats.
JSU went 3-of-7 from three-point range while holding B-CU to just 5 points. The result was an 18-5 lead heading into the second.
2nd Quarter
The Wildcats could not make up ground in the second, despite holding JSU to just 10 points.
The Tigers cooled up from beyond the arc after a hot start, missing all six of their attempts. But they held B-CU to 26.7% from the field which helped them maintain a 13-point advantage heading into the break.
Madison Holden scored eight of the Wildcats' 15 points, while Jada Patton led the Tigers with 11.
3rd Quarter
B-CU chipped away at the lead thanks to much improved shooting in the third. As a team B-CU shot 53.8% while holding the Tigers 21.4%.
Madison Holden continued to lead the way, scoring 11 points to bring her total to 20.
JSU had increased the lead to as high as 14, but the Wildcats went on a 14-5 run during the last five minutes of the quarter to bring the score within five heading into the fourth.
4th Quarter
The Wildcats gave themselves a chance to steal a win, narrowing the lead to one possession early in the fourth.
JSU fought back to extend the lead, but B-CU cut it to two with 5:19 left following a layup by
Kailyn Peters.
Both teams struggled offensively in the final five minutes, but the Tigers were able to hold B-CU to just one point during the stretch run to close out the win.
Alabama A&M
The Bulldogs are 10-9 on the season and are in the midst of a six-game winning streak. They are undefeated at home against SWAC opponents and are coming off an 18-point road win over Texas Southern.
AAMU is led in scoring by Kalia Walker. She is averaging 13.6 points and leads the team with 24 three-pointers made. Most recently, Walker scored 19 points on 5-of-10 shooting and 8-of-10 from the free-throw line.
Alabama A&M deploys the top defense in the SWAC, holding opponents to just 59.6 points per game.
Alabama State
The Hornets are 7-11 thus far and 4-3 in conference play. They are coming off back-to-back road wins over Texas Southern and Prairie View, but they have yet to win a home game in the SWAC.
The leading scorer for Alabama State is Shamaya Reid. She is scoring 8.4 points per game and has reached double figures in four of their seven SWAC games.
AAMU is holding opponents to just 38% shooting this season, good for the top spot in the SWAC. They are also the top rebounding team, averaging 41 per contest.

The Wildcats and Bulldogs have met 11 times in their history. AAMU has won eight of the matchups and are currently on a five-game winning streak in the series.
This will be the 12th meeting between B-CU and Alabama State. The Hornets have the slight advantage at 6-5, but the Wildcats have won the last three games.
