BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After a historically dominant performance against Mississippi Valley State, Jaden Davis has been named SWAC Football Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced from its headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.

The award is the first of Davis' career and the fourth for Bethune-Cookman overall this season.

Jaden Davis went nuclear in the Wildcats' 34-14 road victory over the Delta Devils. The redshirt junior out of Tampa finished with three interceptions, tying him for third in program history for a single game.

Davis also led the team with nine total tackles, including a sack and a tackle for loss, and capped off the night with a fumble recovery for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

Bethune-Cookman has an important game on deck this Saturday, as they face the Jackson State Tigers with first place in the East Division on the line. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST.
