BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – B-CU outside hitter Alaya Rhodes continues to draw attention from across the league, as she has been recognized for yet another SWAC weekly award.

For the fourth time this season, Rhodes has been named SWAC Newcomer of the Week, the league announced from its headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.

The junior out of Memphis was an all-around force for Bethune-Cookman during two victories over Alcorn State and Southern. Against the Jaguars, Rhodes earned her tenth double-double on the season, finishing with 23 kills and 18 assists, both team-highs. In a sweep over the Braves, she had 16 kills on a .406 hitting percentage along with seven digs.

Rhodes and the Wildcats will look to continue their winning ways as the regular season begins to wind down. Next up for B-CU is an Alabama roadtrip, starting with a Friday night matchup with Alabama A&M.
