TALLAHASEE, Fla. –
Alaya Rhodes earned her seventh double-double of the season, but it was not enough as the Wildcats fell to Florida A&M 3-0 at the Al Lawson Center.
Florida A&M (9-9, 4-1) came out firing on all cylinders in the first set, taking a commanding 9-3 lead early on. They would increase the advantage to as many as nine before Bethune-Cookman (7-8, 3-2) attempted to chip away.
The Wildcats were able to get within five, but their efforts proved futile, as the Rattlers held on to take set one.
The second set saw FAMU once again get off to a good start, taking a 3-0 lead and never looking back. The Rattlers hit .367 as a team, compared to just .111 for the Wildcats.
B-CU opened the third set with a 5-3 advantage, but Florida A&M quickly responded with a 9-0 scoring run to swing the momentum back in their favor.
The Wildcats cut the deficit to four but were unable to get any closer. FAMU took the third set by a score of 25-13 to win the match.

- Alaya Rhodes led the team in kills (15) and digs (12).
- Nola Hemphill produced 17 assists and four digs.
- The Wildcats had just one total block, tying its lowest output of any game this season.
- The Rattlers outhit B-CU .316 to .081.
- FAMU finished with six blocks and seven service aces.
- Three Rattlers recorded 10+ kills.
Bethune-Cookman returns home Friday to face Grambling State, beginning at 6 p.m. EST.
