LEESBURG, Fla. – The Wildcats held LIU to just four hits, winning 2-1 in the final matchup of THE Spring Games in Leesburg.

Neither team could provide much consistent offense on the afternoon, as the two teams combined for nine hits.
Bethune-Cookman (2-9) was able to get a runner in scoring position in the first and second, but could not drive them in.
LIU (0-10) had a runner advance to second in the third inning, but she was then thrown out trying to advance to third.
The Wildcats got their only two runs home in the bottom of the third.
Kweenkennahlae Tauala hit a sacririce fly, driving in
Mika Wesley to make it 1-0. Then
Janel Morrisey hit a bunt single to drive in
Emma Bradley-Tse to extend it to 2-0.
The Sharks got on the board in the sixth inning, grabbing a run on a B-CU error to cut the lead in half. But the Wildcats were able to limit the damage while shutting LIU down in the seventh to close out the win.
B-CU pitchers
Mia Gonzalez and
Aimi Tohara-Yshiki combined to allow just four hits and no earned runs across seven innings.

Bethune-Cookman will travel to Cathedral City, California to play in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. The first game of the event will take place Thursday at 10:30 a.m. against Utah.
