DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - B-CU women's basketball returns home for the final time this season as they are set for rematches against Alabama State and Alabama A&M at Moore Gymnasium.

1st Quarter
The Wildcats (6-20, 4-9) opened the game with strong energy on both ends, jumping out to a 10-3 lead behind early baskets from Holden and
Daimoni Dorsey.
Bethune-Cookman forced multiple turnovers and limited Alcorn (14-10, 11-2) to 26.7 percent shooting in the opening period.
Tyler Butler and
Sanai Tyler were active on the glass, helping the Wildcats maintain possession and close the quarter with a 14-12 advantage.
2nd Quarter
Bethune-Cookman continued its offensive rhythm in the second quarter, shooting 53.3 percent from the field and extending the lead to as many as nine points.
Holden knocked down two 3-pointers in transition, while
Kailyn Peters and
Mya Johnson added key baskets in the paint. Dorsey capped the half with a fast-break layup, and the Wildcats went into halftime holding a 33-26 lead.
3rd Quarter
Alcorn responded with urgency after the break, using a 17-4 run to take its first lead of the game.
Maya Hunkin-Claytor caught fire from beyond the arc, drilling four 3-pointers in the quarter, including three in a two-minute span.
Bethune-Cookman kept pace behind inside scoring from Peters and
Shomari Phillips.
Madison Holden would tie the game at 45 with a 3-pointer late in the period. However, Alcorn closed the quarter with a free throw to take a slim 48-47 lead into the fourth.
4th Quarter
The final period featured several lead changes early, with Bethune-Cookman pulling within one on baskets from Dorsey and
Jordan Brooks.
The Wildcats had multiple opportunities to regain the lead, but Alcorn capitalized on turnovers and transition chances.
The Braves went to the line 16 times in the fourth quarter and converted 12 free throws, gradually building separation.
A late 3-pointer by Hunton-Claytor with under two minutes remaining pushed the lead to eight and sealed the win for the Braves.
Alabama State
The Hornets are currently 9-4, good for the third best record in the SWAC behind Alabama A&M and Alcorn State. They are coming off back-to-back home wins against Arkansas - Pine Bluff and Mississippi Valley State.
Shamya Reid narrowly leads the Hornets in scoring at just under nine points per game. Caylee Simpson and Clearia Peterson are just behind her, averaging over eight points per game. Overall, ASU receives scoring contributions from up and down its lineup.
In conference play, Alabama State ranks second in points per game, first in field goal percentage, and second in rebounding. Defensively though, they rank in the middle of the pack and are toward the bottom of the league in turnover margin (-2.0).
Alabama A&M
The Bulldogs currently lead the SWAC with a 12-1 record. Their only loss came on January 1st against Mississippi Valley State in overtime. Since then, Alabama A&M has won 12 in a row, most recently getting revenge on the Delta Devils 95-55.
Kaila Walker leads the Bulldogs and ranks third in the SWAC overall in scoring. She is averaging 15.2 points on .407/.346/.888 shooting splits. Walker scored a season-high 22 points in the Bulldogs' most recent victory over MVSU.
Alabama A&M ranks as the top offense in the SWAC, scoring 68.2 points per game. They are just as elite defensively, ranking first in points allowed (51.4), and they are also the best rebounding team.

The Wildcats are 5-7 against the Hornets in their history, including a loss this season back on January 31st.
Versus the Bulldogs, the Wildcats are just 3-9 all-time.
