HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Bethune-Cookman women's golf wrapped up its first event of the spring season at the El Campeon Collegiate hosted by Lehigh, Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 23-24, at Mission Inn Golf Club
B-CU posted rounds of 355, 359, and 377 for a 1091 (+227) as a team on the 54-hole event, finishing 11th. North Dakota State took first, finishing with a 943 (+79). Longwood and Bucknell finished in second and third with a 947 (+83) and 971 (+107), respectively. Host Lehigh finished tied with Navy for for fourth with a 982 (+118).
Lathika Krishna was the top finisher for B-CU, carding rounds of 86-90-85=261 (+45) for a 42nd-place finish overall in a field of 70 golfers.
Mia Bernier was next for the Cats, finishing tied for 50th with a 88-90-93=271 (+55).
Lana Bowen was close behind with a 89-94-93=276 (+60) to sit in a tie for 56th.
Skylar Kew finished 62nd with scores of 93-97-97=287 (+71), followed by
Leiahnni Smith in 64th with a 109-106-102=317.
Reese Wilson carded an 88 and 82 before withdrawing in the third round due to injury.
The Wildcats will get right back to work at the Lady Bison Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, March 2-3 in Gainesville Florida. The event is hosted by former MEAC foe Howard.
