DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Wildcats return to Daytona Beach for the penultimate homestand of the season as they face Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M at Moore Gymnasium.

1st Quarter
Bethune-Cookman (3-19, 1-8) and Alabama State (9-11, 6-3) traded baskets early on in the contest.
Jordan Brooks made a jumper to tied the game at six with 3:44 left.
The Hornets dominated the remainder of the quarter, finishing on a 14-3 run. B-CU struggled offensively with four turnovers and just one field goal made during the stretch. Overall, they shot just 23% from the field compared to 61% for Alabama State.
2nd Quarter
Both teams shot well in the second, as the Wildcats were able to trim slightly into the lead.
The Wildcats found success from beyond the arc, shooting 50% in the quarter.
Janessa Kelley made two three-pointers while
Daimoni Dorsey and
Kailyn Peters each had one.
At the end of the half, the Hornets held a 35-27 lead.
3rd Quarter
The Wildcats finished with just seven shot attempts in the third but made 13 trips to the free-throw line. B-CU took advantage of those attempts, making all but one.
Alabama State made seven of its 11 shot attempts and got to the free-throw line seven times, converting on five.
Following a pair of
Madison Holden free-throws, B-CU was able to cut the lead to just four. But the Hornets once again finished the quarter strong, outscoring the Wildcats 12-6 over the final four minutes to retake a double-digit lead.
4th Quarter
The Hornets were able to close out a win thanks to a 23-point fourth quarter. ASU shot 67% from the field and were dominant inside, scoring 18 points in the paint.
Alabama State began the quarter on a 12-0 run, effectively ending any hopes of a Wildcat comeback.
Texas Southern
The Tigers are 9-12 on the season and have gotten off to a 5-4 start in SWAC play. They are coming off a nine-point road win over Prairie View last Saturday, moving their conference road record to 3-2.
The leading scorer for Texas Southern is graduate guard Daeja Holmes. She is averaging 12.9 points, good for fifth in the SWAC overall. Holmes is one of the top three-point shooters in the league ranking fourth in three-point percentage (.347) and three-pointers made (41).
Texas Southern ranks as the top offense during the course of the entire season but have ranked toward the middle of the pack in conference play. They are second in the league in three-pointers made per game (5.7), third in rebounding (40.2), and fourth in turnovers (18.4).
Prairie View A&M
The Panthers are 2-18 this season and are winless in conference play. They are in the midst of a 14-game losing streak dating back to Nov. 25.
Crystal Schultz is the leading scorer for the Panthers, averaging 15.1 points per game on .346/.299/.819 shooting splits. She is fifth in the SWAC in scoring average.
Prairie View ranks statistically as one of the worst offenses and defenses in the league and rank last in rebounding. They rank number one in the SWAC in blocked shots, averaging 4.33 per contest.

The Wildcats and Tigers have faced four times, with the series currently knotted at two wins apiece.
B-CU has faced Prairie View A&M seven times. The Panthers hold the slight edge in the series 4-3.
