NEW ORLEANS – The Wildcats season came to an end in the SWAC Tournament Quarterfinals as they dropped a 4-0 decision to the second-seeded Alabama A&M Bulldogs at the City Park Tennis Center.
AAMU was able to pick up the doubles point after wins from its top two tandems. The Wildcats top duo of Rosalida Asumwa and
Maria Romero Vargas fought hard but fell 7-5 to seal the point for the Bulldogs.
In singles play, the dual at the number one spot was retired by Romero Vargas, giving the Bulldogs their second point. AAMU then grabbed the final two points with wins by Sofia Sotelo Raya and Tstitsi Mahere.
