BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — B-CU sophomore Kaleigh Williams has been named the SWAC Preseason Blocker of the Year, the conference announced Thursday from its headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. Williams also represented the Wildcats on the All-SWAC First Team as a middle hitter/blocker.

One of the Wildcats' top returning players, Williams is coming off an outstanding inaugural campaign with the Maroon and Gold. She finished with 123.0 total blocks on the season and led the SWAC with 105 block assists while averaging 1.14 blocks per set. She also added 134 kills, 59 digs, and 32 service aces.

Williams became the first B-CU freshman to be named all-conference since 2021 and the Wildcats' third straight Blocker of the Year honoree.

Bethune-Cookman will open the 2026 season on Friday, August 28th as they travel to Greenville, North Carolina for the East Carolina Tournament. Game one against Hampton begins at 2 p.m. EST.
