2016 – Sophomore Season
Second Team All-MEAC selection… For the second consecutive season, held the team’s lowest earned run average with a 2.36 mark on the year… Came out of the bullpen to see action in a team second-most 25 games of relief action – tied for the fifth-most in the league… Finished the year with a team-best three saves, good enough to finish tied for seventh in the MEAC in that category… Worked 26.2 innings out of the bullpen… Struck out 15 batters on the year… Had an opponent batting average of .226 for the year… Struck out two batters and allowed a single hit in a 5-0 loss to Murray State (Feb. 19)… Fanned a pair of batters and allowed a single earned run on three hits at UCF (Feb. 23)… Went the final 13 games of the year without allowing a run, stemming from a game against North Carolina A&T (March 26)… Struck out two batters and did not surrender a hit at Ohio State (April 1) in 0.2 innings of relief work… Tossed a season-high three innings of scoreless baseball, scattering two hits, walking a batter and striking out one in a 4-3 setback at FIU (April 13)… Picked up his first save of the year in a 6-5 win over Florida A&M (April 16) in the first game of a doubleheader in Ormond Beach, Florida… Worked 0.1 innings and walked one in the win… Collected another save in the series finale against the Rattlers (April 17) a day later… Worked one inning, allowing a hit and getting the save in the 7-5 win for the Wildcats… Posted his final save of the year against FAMU (May 23) in the MEAC Championships in Salisbury, Maryland… Worked an inning on the mound, not allowing a hit in the process… Pitched one inning, allowing just a single hit against heavy-hitting Florida (June 3) in the NCAA Gainesville [Fla.] Regional…
 
2015 – Freshman Season
Held the team’s lowest ERA throughout the season… Claimed a 2.38 earned run average in 21 appearances, all out of the bullpen… Failed to collect a win on the year, but earned a team-best nine holds in relief action, setting up four saves for the Wildcats… Tossed 22.2 innings, amassing 17 strikeouts against nine walks allowed… Tagged for 11 runs (six earned)… Began the year pitching 13.2 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run… That was a span of 12 games to start the season… Picked up two strikeouts in an innings of work against Mercer (Feb. 22)… Logged two innings with a strikeout, walk and hit allowed in a win over FIU (March 24)… Registered a season-high three strikeouts at North Carolina Central (April 12)… Pitched a season-high three innings against the Eagles… Tallied two strikeouts in 1.1 innings worked at nationally-ranked Florida (April 21)… Worked a scoreless 0.2 inning spell against Delaware State (May 13) in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Baseball Championships…
 
Park Vista Community HS
Played two seasons of varsity baseball under head coach Larry Greenstein at Park Vista… As a senior in 2014, started in two games and posted a record of 2-2 on the campaign… Posted an ERA of 2.86 with 18 strikeouts… Tossed one complete game, as well as earning a save in another… Helped team to both conference and district titles in 2013 and ’14… Used an ERA of 2.15 as a junior in 2013, while holding an even 1-1 record on the mound… Fanned 10 batters and registered four saves… Team lost in the 2014 FHSAA state semifinals, finishing the year ranked No. 104 nationally… One of his two starts as a senior came against Spanish River in the district title game, earning an 11-1 win…

Son of Glen and Ginny Calamita… Plans on becoming a high school gym teacher and baseball coach after graduation… Majoring in Physical Education (K-12)… Has two older siblings, Dominic (27) and Anthony (29)… Enjoys playing and watching football, hanging out with friends and working out… Favorite sports memory is winning the 2014 Regional Championship, and getting to dogpile on his home field in front of the fans… Favorite athlete is Clayton Kershaw… Favorite sports teams are the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions, as well as the Los Angeles Dodgers… Favorite book is The Outsiders
