JUNIOR SEASON (2015-16) :Appeared in 19 games, averaging 2.0 points and 1.4 rebounds ... Scored 12 points on 6-9 shooting at Hampton... Had 5 points and 4 rebounds at Norfolk State ..Saw action in WNIT game at Florida Gulf Coast.

SOPHOMORE SEASON: Appeared in 11 games, averaging 7.4 points ... Played in all of the final 10 games of the season ... Three double-figure games ... Was 4-5 from three-point range in 20-point effort at South Carolina State ... Had 15 points against North Carolina A&T in MEAC quarterfinals.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2013-14):Played in 26 games in her rookie season with the Lady Wildcats, starting in a pair, against East Carolina (12/29) and at Florida Atlantic (1/2)…Averaging 11.4 minutes per game, the freshman tallied 3.5 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.6 steals per contest…Godfrey made her collegiate debut at Florida (11/8), scoring two (2) points in five minutes of action…Godfrey had a very successful tournament at the Stetson Hatter Classic, logging a season-high five (5) rebounds against Nicholls State (12/20) and scoring in double figures for the first time with 11 points versus Murray State (12/21)…She also had a strong showing at Florida A&M (3/6) tying for the game-high in scoring with 14 points…She also topped the team in the MEAC Championships quarterfinal game versus North Carolina A&T (3/12), scoring a team-leading 16 points against the Lady Aggies, along with three (3) rebounds and a steal…She also logged two (2) steals in four separate games.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played her high school basketball at Crosby High School under Coach Quincy Shelton, earning Team MVP honors as a captain for the Cougars in her senior year…In her final high school season, Godfrey led JCS in scoring (21.3), rebounding (10.8), assists (8.2) and steals (4.2)...Named RCS Sports All-Greater Houston Area selection for her senior year...Named first team All-District 19-4A not just in her senior year, but all four years…Had her best game against Galena Park HS, scoring 25 with 12 rebounds and five (5) assists…Appeared in the Southeast Texas Coaches Association Girls Basketball All-Star Game…Earned a RCS Sports Preseason All-Greater Houston Area selection prior to her senior year… Averaged 19.3 points, while topping the team in rebounds (11), assists (7.2) and steals (4.6) per game as a junior…Named District 19-4A Newcomer of the Year as a freshman…Godfrey led her team in scoring all four years of high school, in addition to being recognized with Team MVP honors each year...Also competed in track & field in the high jump during high school…Was a member of the Honor Roll.

PERSONAL: Alea Janay Godfrey was born April 28, 1995 in Houston, Texas to Deborah Mouton and Christopher Godfrey…Has four siblings, Max (23), Christopher (22), Jerren (14) and Alaina (14)…A close family friend, T.J. Ford, has aided in her workouts and training program; he starred as a guard at Texas and was drafted in the NBA first round, playing nine seasons professionally…Her mother played basketball at the University of Texas San Antonio…Over her first summer in Daytona Beach, she did volunteer work painting a daycare…Outside of basketball she enjoys chilling…Chose Bethune-Cookman for the “home-like” environment…Notes her best sports memory as throwing an alley-oop to Brittney Griner…Her favorite athlete is LeBron James, because of his game, and his arms…Cites her mother and grandmother as the biggest influences in her life…Is interested in becoming an accountant and is majoring in Business and Accounting at Bethune-Cookman.
