Biography

2016 – Junior Season
Began the season as a weekday starter, only to move into the weekend rotation at season’s end… Registered a 4-3 record on the year, with an ERA of 5.80 to his credit… Appeared in 16 games overall, starting nine of those contests… Had one save out of the bullpen… Worked a team fourth-highest 45 innings on the bump… Struck out a team fourth-most 36 batters… Opponents batted .304 against him on the year… Picked up his only save of the year on the strength of a 3-2 win over Murray State (Feb. 21)… Tossed the final innings of the game, not surrendering a hit in recording the three outs to preserve the win for the Maroon and Gold… Started his first game against Stetson (March 2), working two innings during the midweek affair… Picked up his first win in a start against UCF (March 9) at home… Tossed five innings, giving up a pair of runs on five hits and struck out four in the 17-3 decision over the Knights… Had back-to-back wins in consecutive outings with the 8-3 victory over Quinnipiac (March 16)… Went a season-long six innings, fanning a season-high six batters, allowing two runs and scattering seven hits… Posted his third win of the year with four innings worked in relief efforts against Florida A&M (April 17) to collect the series victory for the Wildcats in Ormond Beach, Florida… Walked four and fanned four with just one unearned run allowed on two hits in the 7-5 come-from-behind decision over the Rattlers… Struck out five batters in a no-decision start against North Carolina Central (April 24), a game in which B-CU would win eventually on a 5-4 effort… Collected his final win of the year in a series finale start at North Carolina A&T (May 1)… Worked five innings on the bump, allowing two runs on four hits, fanning two and walking one in a 23-2 decision for the Wildcats… Worked a third of an inning against Florida A&M (May 23) in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championships in Salisbury, Maryland… Collected a strikeout and walked a batter in the 5-2 decision for B-CU…
 
2015 – Sophomore Season
Finished the season with a 0-4 record overall, and an earned run average of 7.76 on the year… Started five games on the year – all midweek contests… Appeared in 18 games overall… Worked 31.1 innings, collecting 17 strikeouts… Opponents batted .293 against him… Allowed 33 runs (27 earned)… Picked up an inning of work at Georgia Southern (Feb. 13), striking out one and allowing a single hit… Saw a season-high matching four innings of work against Maine (March 4), allowing four hits, two runs and picking up three strikeouts in relief action… Worked his first career start with four innings against USF (March 11)… Allowed just one run (unearned) on two hits and walking one in the start against the Bulls… Suffered the loss in a 1-0 score… Picked up his second start with 3.1 innings of action against Florida Atlantic (March 18), allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits, four walks and two strikeouts… Took the loss in the game against the Owls… Had a no-decision in his next start against North Florida (March 25), working four innings and allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits, a walk and a strikeout… Had his final start of the season at USF (April 22), claiming a no-decision in three innings of action… Against the Bulls, allowed a run on a pair of hits, walked three and struck out a pair of batters… Did not allow a run in three consecutive outings across three innings of relief action against North Florida (April 7), at N.C. Central (April 11) in the first game of a doubleheader, and at Jacksonville (April 14)… Did not give up a hit in an inning of work against Florida A&M (May 16) in the title game of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championships in Salisbury, Maryland…
 
2014 – Freshman Season
Made 14 appearances a reliever during his debut season at B-CU, collecting 10 strikeouts in 7.2 innings... Registered a 1-1 record with a 3.52 ERA... Opposing batters hit just .222 against... Made one appearance as a pinch runner against Central Connecticut State (3/22)... Made his longest appearance against North Carolina Central (3/9), with 1.1 on the bump... Earned his first collegiate victory at NCCU (4/12)... Recorded two strikeouts, a season high, in games at Florida A&M (3/1), versus FAMU (4/5) and at Stetson (4/8)... Held opponents without a hit in 10 of his relief appearances…
 
John F. Kennedy HS
Played his high school baseball at John F. Kennedy High School in Cleveland under Coach Tyrone Bolden, pitching and playing outfield as Captain for the Fighting Eagles... Earned a 7-1 record on the mound with 96 strikeouts as a senior, while also batting .568... Earned Plain Dealer Player of the Week honors after hitting two home runs and striking out nine batters in nine innings pitched – his best game of the year... Named Senate Athletic League MVP, League All-Star and All-State honorable mention... As a junior, he pitched to a 7-2 record, striking out 78, while also batting .624... His base game of the season came on a no-hitter vs. Akron Buchtel... Named Senate Athletic League MVP and All-Star, serving as a Captain for JFKHS... Also lettered in basketball for four years, averaging 17 points, four assists and 2.5 steals per game, gaining recognition as a two-time all-star... Earned Honor Roll status three of his years in high school, graduating fourth in his class with a 3.85 GPA…
 
Personal
Nicknamed Tay, Donté Lamere Lindsay was born on October 18, 1994 in Cleveland, Ohio to Conswalla Sanders... He is the fifth of six children, his siblings are Keyana, Danyele, Paris, Dwan, Andrea and Samayaah... Outside of baseball, he likes to play basketball, video games and watch movies... Chose Bethune-Cookman because the coaches are really there for the players, the team is very family-oriented and every successful team he’s played on has had the same vibe... Notes his best sports memory as pitching vs. the Dominican Republic in California when he was 13, giving up just one run in six innings before a home run turned the game to a losing effort... Long toss before every game has been his pregame ritual... His favorite athlete is LeBron James, because he can relate to where James came from and loves James’ passion for what he does... His most prized possession is his shoes... Cites his mother and older brother, Dwan, as his biggest influences... Lindsay is majoring in Criminal Justice at Bethune-Cookman…
