2015 – Junior Season
Picked up a 1-2 record on the mound in his first season with the Wildcats after transferring from Frank Philips College… Carried a 7.27 earned run average across the season… Appeared in 17 games, collecting one start… Combined for one shutout… Worked 26 innings, allowing 26 runs (21 earned) on 34 hits… Walked 10 batters… Registered 15 strikeouts on the year… Tossed back-to-back scoreless innings in two outings at Stetson (April 29) and at Miami (May 6)… Allowed just a single hit in his only start of the year against Delaware State (May 15) in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championships in Salisbury, Maryland… Picked up the win with five innings, allowing two walks and striking out four… B-CU eventually picked up the 13-0 shutout win over the Hornets…

Before Bethune-Cookman
Attended two years at Frank Phillips College… Played baseball under head coach Kurtis Lay… Helped team to a 35-21 record in 2014… Collected a 5-0 record on the mound… Team reached the second round of the 2014 WCJAC Championships… Finished third in the WCJAC Championships in 2013…

Cleburne HS
Prepped at Cleburne High, playing baseball under head coach Ross Taylor… Team finished second in the state of Texas in 2012… Three-time first team all-district… Four-year varsity letterwinner… Also lettered two seasons in football… All-district performer as a tight end…

Son of Hilaria and Zenaido Hernandez… Has one sibling, Elma (22)… Majoring in Business Administration… Lists going to the beach as one of his favorite things to do away from the field… Chose to attend Bethune-Cookman because of the great athletic tradition… Lists playing in the state championship game his senior year in high school as one of his favorite sports memories… Praying is his only superstition before games… Favorite professional sports team is the Texas Rangers… Favorite television show is The Office… Lists his favorite books as the Harry Potter series… Enjoys listening to country music…
