Played his high school baseball at Smithfield High School for the Packers under Coach Brian White…His best game of his senior season came against New Kent, as he struck out 19 of 21 batters faced through seven innings, logging a no-hitter…Named ESPN Rise Player of the Week, and later earned first team All-State and first team All-Conference honors…Earned second team All-Conference honors as a junior, pitching one no hitter...Also played football and ran cross country
