Opened his inaugural college athletics season with the Wildcats primarily as a reliever, appearing in 20 games with three starts, while also taking in five games in the outfield...On the mound, Austin logged an 0-1 record and 4.02 ERA in 40.1 innings pitched, earning two saves and contributed to one shutout…He tallied 30 strikeouts and opposing batters went .272 against him…Offensively, Austin batted .375 with one RBI and two runs scored…On the hill, his best game was at UCF (5/1) with five strikeouts, allowing just one run in 4.1 innings…At the plate, he went 2-for-4 at Savannah State (5/6) with an RBI and one run scored...Played summer league baseball for the Presstman Cardinals in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League (CRCBL), earning a spot in the CRCBL All-Star Game after logging a team-best 2.34 ERA

Born June 4, 1994 in Baltimore, Md., he is the son of Steven and Avis Austin…His cousin, Lorenzo Walters, is a starting safety for Rutgers football…In high school, he was a member of the Varsity Club and was a member of the band his freshman and sophomore years…He has volunteered his time with his church youth group and was a basketball camp coordinator for three years…Off the field, he enjoys watching movies and playing video games…Considered several mid-Atlantic schools, including Old Dominion, Maryland, VCU and Presbyterian, choosing Bethune-Cookman because it’s a great place to be, and a good school with great baseball…Cites Tim Tebow and Lorenzo Waters as his biggest athletic influences because, “they live their faith on the field and play for the glory of God”…Has his goals set on helping the Wildcats make it to Omaha for the College World Series…Has overcome adversity to make it to B-CU, moving past a tragic 2010 house fire and breaking his ankle…He is majoring in Physical Education and Recreation at Bethune-Cookman
