2016 – Sophomore Season
Named to the All-MEAC Second Team… Served as a weekend starter for the Maroon and Gold right from the beginning of the season… Held a record of 6-4 on the year in 14 starts… Made one relief appearance on the campaign… Second on the Wildcats roster in earned run average amongst starting pitchers, using an MEAC ninth-best 4.52 mark on the year… Finished the year fifth in the league for opponent batting average (.252)… Led the Wildcats and finished tied for fourth in the conference in strikeouts (71)… Fanned 24 batters looking… Picked up one of two complete-game shutouts for the Cats on the year… Combined for a team-best three shutouts on the year… Picked up two complete game performances on the year – tying for second-best on the team in that department… His six wins were good enough to match for second-best in the MEAC… Matched teammate German Hernandez for a league-best 14 starts… Worked a total of 69.2 innings across the season – the second-most on the squad… Earned his first decision of the year in the season-opening 3-2 home victory against Murray State (Feb. 21)… Tossed five innings in that game, allowing just two hits and fanning a career-high 11 batters in the process… Picked up back-to-back starting wins after completing six frames against Florida Gulf Coast (March 5) in the 1-0 decision over the Eagles… Did not allow a run, scattering three hits and striking out seven in the process… Helped the Wildcats to an 11-3 win over North Carolina Central (March 19), improving his record to 3-0 on the year with a complete-game, seven-inning showing against the Eagles… Allowed three runs on six hits, walking zero (0) and striking out seven batters… Tossed his second complete-game of the year with seven innings worked in the Wildcats’ m3-0 shutout of Savannah State (April 9) in the second leg of a doubleheader in Ormond Beach, Florida… Scattered four hits and struck out a season second-most nine batters against a single walk… Did not surrender an earned run through 24 consecutive innings from April 9 through April 30… Earned his sixth win of the campaign in a 10-0 decision over Coppin State (May 19) in the opening game of the MEAC Championships in Salisbury, Maryland… Worked six innings in a starting role without a decision against Norfolk State (May 24) in the title game of the MEAC Championships… Did not allow a hit and struck out six in the process against the Spartans…
 
2015 – Freshman Season
Completed his freshman year sporting a 3-5 overall record on the mound… Served as the Wildcats’ number three starter for weekend series… Held the team’s third-best earned run average (4.31)… Played in 15 games, picking up the start on the bump in 13 of those contests… Pitched 64.2 innings… Allowed 37 runs (31 earned)… Fanned a season-high tying 58 batters, allowing 36 walks – the second-fewest among starters… Opponents carried just a .222 average against on the year… Saw his first start against UCF (Feb. 25) in a midweek contest against the nationally-ranked Knights, allowing four runs on four hits in three innings worked… Earned a no-decision in his second career start, tossing five frames and allowing just three hits with no runs allowed and striking out three in the nightcap of a doubleheader against Florida A&M (March 1)… Picked up his first collegiate victory against North Carolina Central (March 8), working the series finale against the Eagles to ensure the series win for the Wildcats at Jackie Robinson Ballpark… Worked 6.2 innings, giving up two earned runs on a pair of hits and striking out a season-high eight batters against three walks allowed… Earned back-to-back wins on the strength of a 16-5 effort in five frames tossed in the second game of a doubleheader at North Carolina A&T (March 15)… Struck out six, allowing three runs on three hits with three walks against the Aggies… Fanned five batters and allowed just three hits in a victory at Florida A&M (April 4)… The game also represented his only complete game of the season… Took the loss in the second leg of a doubleheader at Savannah State (May 2), despite striking out six and allowing just two runs on three hits in six complete innings… Suffered a loss in his last game of the year, a 6-2 decision against Delaware State (May 13) in the opening game of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Baseball Tournament in Salisbury, Maryland… Worked five frames, giving up four runs (three earned) on five hits, striking out two and walking a pair in that game against the Hornets…

Played his high school baseball for head coach Todd Fitzgerald… As a senior, helped his team to an 18-9 record while starting in eight games on the mound… Collected an ERA of 2.01 on the campaign… Picked up a record of 6-1… Tallied 44 strikeouts and tossed two complete games – both resulting in victories… Picked up the win in the district championship game… Team lost in the regional finals to Park Vista… Named Most Outstanding Player for Stoneman Douglas in 2014… Named First Team Miami Herald… Broward Sports Class 8-A All-District Team and Player of the Year… Selected to play in the FACA All-Star Game… Sun Sentinel Second Team member in 2013… Cardinal Gibbons MVP… Named Varsity Rookie of the Year in 2011…

Son of Jerry and Wendy Norris… Has a younger brother, Brady (16)… Enjoys fishing, playing golf and going to the beach… Chose Bethune-Cookman because of the well-known baseball program, as well as the great education offered to students… Best sports memory is hitting his first home run in Cooperstown… Lists Dodgeball as his favorite movie… Favorite sports team is the Miami Marlins… Most prized possession is his family…
