One of two running backs returning from the 2012 season • Enters the season competing for playing time as a running back • Once again will provide valuable experience as a kick returner • Performed well in the spring during numerous practice sessions.
2012 – Sophomore Season
Made an appearance in seven games as a reserve running back • Also spent time returning kickoffs • Rushed 14 times for 56 yards and a touchdown • Returned four kickoffs for an average of 8.5 yards per return • Had four carries for 14 yards in the MEAC-clinching victory at Savannah State • Scored his first career touchdown, a one-yard plunge in the fourth quarter, against North Carolina Central • Picked up a career-best 25 yards, as well as a season-long rush for 18 yards, on three carries in a 48-3 win over Norfolk State • Picked up a 15-yard kickoff return at Hampton • Carried the ball a career-high five times for 14 yards at Miami (Fla.) • Returned two kickoffs for 17 yards, including a long of 21 yards, in the MEAC/SWAC victory over Alabama State.
2011 – Freshman Season
Saw action in eight games in his rookie season, seeing his first collegiate action in the season-opening MEAC/SWAC Challenge vs. Prairie View A&M • Played primarily as a return specialist, but saw action at running back in three games, rushing for 18 yards on six carries • Season-long run of 21 yards against Savannah State, rushing three times for 25 total • As a kickoff returner, Cabrera averaged 21.2 yards per return with a season long of 40 yards against South Carolina State • On the season, he returned 19 kicks for a team-high 402 yards • Also competed for the B-CU track team, running the 100m and 200m, while logging time on multiple relay teams • Named to the 2011-12 MEAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team • Did not see playing time during the 2010 campaign.
Dunnellon High School
Named the 2009 Mule Track & Field Runner of the Year (Marion County) • Ranked eighth in the nation in the 100m dash in 2009 • Made the Dean's List with a 3.5 GPA as a senior.
