Logged a career-high 21 points on 10-of-14 (.714) shooting in 21 minutes vs. Trinity Baptist, in addition to a team-leading nine rebounds • Led the team at Jacksonville with 16 points on 5-of-6 (.833) shooting with four (4) blocks and two (2) steals, while hitting a career-best 6-of-8 (.750) free throws • Led B-CU for second straight game in scoring (14) against Florida Atlantic, logging a stat in every category except turnovers; with a career-high five (5) blocks, season-high three (3) steals and seven (7) boards • Named MEAC Defensive POTW (11/19) • Collected her third career double-double vs. Ball State with 14 points and a season-high 13 rebounds • Scored eight (8) with seven (7) rebounds at North Florida • Scored nine (9) with eight (8) rebounds at UCF • Returned to double figures with 10, collecting eight (8) rebounds and career-high three (3) assists • Scored 12 points vs. UNC Asheville • Collected fourth career double-double, second on year, of 10 pts./10 reb. at Kent State • Earned a 12 pt./13 reb. double-double, fifth career; second on the year at FAMU • Collected three (3) blocks vs. NCCU • Had seven (7) points and six (6) rebounds at Savannah State
Sophomore Season (2011-12): Sidelined through 19 games while rehabbing an ACL injury incurred at the end of 2010-11...played 15 minutes in her return to the court, scoring three points and grabbing four rebounds...Hairston started the next five games in the low post, eight total...scored seven points twice, including her top game of the year, in the 47-43 win at Savannah State (2/20/12), in which she also grabbed a season high 11 rebounds and logged two blocks...finished the year averaging 3.3 PPG and fourth on the team in rebounds at 3.8 per game
Freshman Season (2010-11): NAMED TO MEAC ALL-ROOKIE TEAM......Named MEAC Rookie of the Week on December 6 and January 21...Appeared in 28 games, starting 15...Led MEAC in field goal percentage (50.3) and was second on the team in rebounds (160) and blocked shots (23)...Suffered season-ending knee injury in regular season finale vs. UMES (3/5/11)...Double-Doubled on opening night with 16 points and 11 rebounds against Florida Memorial (11/12/10)...Other double-doubles were a 14-11 night against North Carolina Central (2/28/11)...Made a 17-15 effort against South Carolina State (2/26/11)...Returned to her hometown of Greensboro and scored 17 with 5 steals against North Carolina A&T (1/10/11)...Led team in scoring three times and rebounding eight...suffered a season-ending injury in the final regular season game.
High School: Played the power forward position at Dudley High School...Recognized as one of the best post players in her area, while tabbed by the Hoops and Dreams Camps Showcase as their 65th best national player...She helped her team to a Metro 4-A League and Conference 8 title in 2010, finishing with a 20-5 record...Was named to the 4A Triad County team...The DHS team finished 6th in the North Carolina team rankings.

she chose over North Carolina A&T, Phifer, and North Carolina Central because "the team was based on a family. Everyone was very close and it reminded me of home."...Cites her father as her biggest influence athletically because he inspires her to be the best athlete she can be...As a student, Amanda was on the AB Honor Roll all years of high school and served as a manager for the baseball team, while also running track, playing volleyball, and was a flag girl and dancer for the band...While at B-CU, she has set a goal to become the MEAC MVP by her junior year...Outside of athletics, she would like to use her degree to become a neo-natal nurse and help save the lives of infants.
