The 2025 season will Brandon Washington serve in a new position for the Wildcats as an assistant coach. He will now be Run Game Coordinator and Offensive Line coach, after spending the previous two seasons as assistant coach strictly for the offensive line under Head Coach Raymond Woodie Jr.

In 2024, the Cats finished ninth in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) in total offense averaging 290.2 yards per contest across the campaign. The team was eighth in the league in passing offense (184.8 yards per game), in addition to finishing sixth in offensive efficiency (127.9). Daniel Palmer, a dynamic freshman for the Wildcats at running back, ended the season with some of the best numbers any rookie has had in B-CU history, and ending the season third in the league for rushing, amassing 706 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.

Washington’s offensive line unit also blocked for Cam Ransom, as the quarterback – playing in his first live action since 2022, and his first-ever snaps at B-CU, was third in the conference with 1,843 yards passing and 11 touchdowns through the air. Ranson also ended the year fifth in the league in total offense (2,006 yards), while Palmer was seventh in all-purpose yards (766).

During Washington’s first season with Bethune-Cookman in 2023, the Cats finished ninth in the SWAC in rushing yards, as his offensive line unit helped pave the way for 1,381 yards on the ground. The team was also the least penalized in the SWAC, and had the lowest amount of penalty yards as a unit in program history.

Washington began his collegiate coaching career at Florida Memorial, an NAIA program in his hometown of Miami, Florida. With FMU, he helped coach the offensive line from 2020-2022. He was later presented with the opportunity of serving as a graduate assistant for UCF assisting with the offensive line for the 2022 season

Washington was born and raised in Miami, Florida, where he attended South Florida football powerhouse Miami Northwestern Senior High School. While playing for the Bulls, the team was crowned 2007 national champions en route to having more than 15 players sign Division I letters of intent to continue their college education and play football.
Washington went on to attend the University of Miami in his hometown area, where he had 28 starts in three seasons. He was named a two-time Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the week, first team all-conference selection as a sophomore, and a pre-season All-American leading into his junior season (2010).

Washington earned his undergraduate degree in criminology. He was eventually taken in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. He spent four seasons with the St. Louis Rams (2012-2015). Washington then went on to the Canadian Football League (CFL) for three years, where he played for the Toronto Argonauts (2016-2018), winning the 2017 Grey Cup.
