Dillon Sharp joins the staff at Bethune-Cookman as a Defensive Analyst and Assistant Linebackers Coach. Prior to joining the Cats, he served as the Wide Receivers and Special Teams Coordinator at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (JUCO - OK) during the 2024 and 2025 seasons as well as coaching the tight ends in 2024.
While with the Norsemen, he helped an offensive turnaround in two seasons that added 230 yard per game total, 145 yards passing per game, and 21 ppg better prior to his arrival. Coaching Antojuan Woody who was a First Team All-SWJCFC selection at Wide Receiver and MiShaun Graham as an Honorable Mention in 2025 and sending four Wide Receivers to Division 1 schools. During his tenure, the Norsemen improved from zero wins in 2023 to three and six wins respectively and an appearance in the SWJCFC championship in 2025, the first since 2018.
While at Charleston Southern (FCS - SC) in the 2023 season, where he served as the Assistant Quarterbacks Coach and Video Coordinator. He helped the Buccaneers go from two to four wins in 2023 while helping develop the quarterbacks room. Prior to Charleston Southern, Sharp spent the 2022 season at Albany State (D2 - GA) as the Defensive Ends/Outside Linebacker and Assistant Special Teams Coach. He helped coach a defense that led the SIAC in pass efficiency defense and was second in the league in scoring defense in conference games, allowing just 7.4 points per game, and in third-down defense, allowing a 31.1-percent conversion rate. The Rams were a top 10 unit nationally in scoring defense (14.9 points per game) while coaching two defensive linemen that were awarded all All-SIAC. He also led the kickoff return team that finished 4th in the NCAA overall with 35 yds per return and had the first kickoff return touchdown for the Golden Rams since 2016.
Sharp joined the Golden Rams after a stint at New Mexico Highlands (D2 - NM) as the Nickels/Assistant Linebackers Coach. The 2021, the Cowboys defense ranked third nationally in Division II in interceptions, leading the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. It also led the RMAC in total turnovers forced, ranking 11th nationally in that category as the Cowboys posted their most wins (six) since 2012. That defense, which ranked fourth in the RMAC in third-down defense, produced three All-RMAC selections.
Before joining NMHU, he was a Graduate Assistant working with the safeties at Liberty University (FBS - VA) with Coach Freeze's first staff in 2019. The 2019 Flames defense finished 28th nationally in sacks (2.69 per game) and 31st in interceptions (12) which also saw Jessie Lemonier, Solomon Ajayi, Bejour Wilson and Elijah Benton sign as NFL free agents and win the first bowl game in program history, 2019 FBC Mortgage Cure Bowl against Georgia Southern.
Originally from Dallas, Texas, Sharp graduated from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Minor in Coaching. He continued his education at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA with a Master of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies: Sport Business and Psychology.
