Biography

A consistent player at tight end since his freshman season • Well-suited for the position due to his size and versatility as a tight end • Great hands and has a knack for knowing how to get to the first down marker to extend drives.

2012 – Junior Season
Suited up in all 12 games and started in six as a tight end • Used his size as a key blocking tight end • Started the first five games of the year and then the final contest in the FCS Playoffs • Finished the year with five catches for 21 yards • Recorded a reception in the final three games of the year • Hauled in a season-long tying sis-yard pass against Florida A&M in the Florida Blue Florida Classic game in Orlando • Registered a five-yard reception in the MEAC title-clinching win at Savannah State • Pulled in a key four-yard pass to extend a scoring drive at South Carolina State.

2011 – Sophomore Season
Was the Wildcats' leading tight end for the second straight year with 10 starts in 11 games, collecting 130 yards on 12 receptions • Averaged 10.8 yards per catch with a long reception of 21 yards at Miami • Against Miami, Murphy played a major role in moving the chains for the B-CU offense and keeping the Wildcats in the lead early in the game, generating a season-best 49 yards on three receptions • He had three receptions in three games in 2011.

2010 – Freshman Season
Played in seven games and started in one • Caught seven passes at the tight end spot for 77 yards on the season • Made his first collegiate reception for 14 yards in the crucial 14-0 road win over South Carolina State • Collected 28 yards in a game twice in 2010, against North Carolina A&T and at Hampton.

Dracut High School
Played three seasons of varsity at tight end and along the offensive line at Dracut High School.
