2012 – Sophomore Season
Played and started in all 12 contests on the year for the Wildcats • Finished the regular season second on the team with 68 tackles, including 37 primary stops, and led the team with four interceptions for 135 yards • His four interceptions allowed him to finish tied for sixth in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in that category • Finished atop the team and seventh overall in the MEAC with 11 passes defended, including seven breakups • Stepped into the offensive backfield for 2.5 tackles-for-loss • Also registered one quarterback hurry • Picked up 10 tackles (seven assisted) with a fumble recovery against Coastal Carolina in the opening round of the FCS Playoffs • Picked off his fourth pass of the year and broke up another pass against the Chanticleers • Posted three tackles in a 21-16 win vs. Florida A&M in the Florida Blue Florida Classic • Had five tackles and a pass breakup in a 42-17 victory over North Carolina Central • Recorded two tackles and an interception for 45 yards in a 48-3 win vs. Norfolk State • Posted his first career double digit tackle game with a team-leading 11 stops in a 38-26 win at Hampton • Picked off two passes against the Pirates for his first and second interceptions of his career • Returned a Pirates’ picked off pass 90 yards for the longest return score of the year for the Wildcats • Earned numerous weekly national and conference awards following that game against Hampton • Named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week, in addition to The Sports Network and College Football Performance Award Defensive Player of the Week • Tabbed as the Beyond Sports Network Defensive Back of the Week • Registered eight tackles in a 21-14 loss to Tennessee State • Grabbed seven tackles and a pass deflection at BCS opponent Miami (Fla.) • Picked up six tackles and a pass breakup in a 27-14 victory at South Carolina State • Made his first collegiate start against Alabama State in the season-opener as part of the MEAC/SWAC Challenge • Recorded eight tackles (five primary stops) and his first career tackle for loss in the 38-28 win over the Hornets • Also posted a pass breakup in that game against Alabama State.
2011 – Freshman Season
Played in five games during his rookie campaign with the Wildcats • Had seven total tackles (five solo) • In the season-opening MEAC/SWAC Challenge vs. Prairie View A&M, he saw his first intercollegiate action, with two solo tackles, one assisted and a blocked kick.
Spoto High School
Graduate from Tampa's Spoto High School in 2011 • Played for the Spartans for three seasons with an 18-14 record under Coach Dale Caparaso • Earned all-state honorable mention in 2009 • Also earned all-state honors in 2010 • Played quarterback in high school • Played in the Hillsborough County and FACA All-Star All-Star Games • Holds record for most passing yards in a season (2,410) and most passing TDs in a season (24).
