Rickey Layman

Rickey Layman brings a wealth of experience to Bethune-Cookman in his role as Director of Football Video. 

Layman was recognized as one of the top video coordinators in the country, receiving a nomination for 2022 FCS Video Coordinator of the Year.

Prior to starting at Bethune-Cookman, he spent a year as the Director of Video and Technology Services at the University of Idaho.

In 2020, Layman spent a year with Georgia State as the Video Coordinator. In 2019, he spent a season as the Assistant Video Coordinator for football at Georgia Tech.   
 
He previously served as assistant video director for the Atlanta Legends franchise in the Alliance of American Football, which played its games at Georgia State Stadium in the spring of 2019.
 
Layman began his career in college athletics as media and video coordinator for the Bethune-Cookman football program in Daytona Beach, Fla., in 2017-18.
 
From 2015 to 2016, he spent a year in Japan, teaching English.
 
Layman played wide receiver for the Louisville Bulls, a semi-pro football team in 2005. Starting in 2006, he served as their Video Coordinator until 2011.

A native of Louisville, Ky., Layman earned his bachelor's degree in film and photography from Montana State in 2014. While there, he served as student videographer for the football team from 2011-14. He added a master's degree in organizational leadership from Bethune-Cookman in 2019.
