Biography

2019 (Senior): A Preseason All-MEAC selection this spring, Danny started 44 games ... He totaled a .209 average with 34 hits, five doubles, two home runs, and 18 RBI ... He walked 17 times ... Displayed stellar leather at first with a .994 fielding percentage ... Owned just two errors with 322 putouts and 12 assists. 

2018 (Junior): He started 50 games and led the team with 14 doubles, eight homers, 35 RBI, and a 482 slugging percentage. He was third in the MEAC in doubles and second in home runs, good enough to earn him to the All-MEAC Third team. 

2017 (Sophomore): Rodriguez again helped BCU to a conference title and a historic season in 2017. He was the Most Outstanding Player of the 2017 MEAC Baseball Championship and a First Team All-MEAC selection at first base. He led the MEAC in slugging percentage at .555, home runs with 11 and total bases with 126, while his 75 hits were second-most in the conference and his 46 RBIs ranked third. Rodriguez was also second in the MEAC  in doubles with 18, and his .988 fielding percentage ranked eighth in the league. In helping lead BCU to a postseason victory over #1 Florida, he tallied a pair of hits and a double. 
 
2016 (Freshman): Named the 2016 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Year… Selected to the 2016 All-MEAC Second Team… Voted to the 2016 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America Team… Finished the year fourth on the team in batting average hitting at a .309 clip for the year… Played and started in 54 games, spending time at first base and as a designated hitter… Led the team with 69 hits, becoming the first freshman to lead the team in that department since Peter O’Brien in 2010… His hits total was fourth-best in the MEAC… Second on the team with 10 doubles… Also second on the squad with 10 home runs, tied for second-best in the league in the category – six behind MEAC leader and teammate Michael Cruz… Posted 46 RBIs, finishing second in the conference for that area… Also finished the season third-best in the conference with 109 total bases… Scored 38 runs across the campaign… Carried a .489 slugging percentage on the season… His on-base percentage stood at .346 for the year… Posted a .986 fielding percentage with a team-best 414 putouts and 21 assists… Posted a team second-best tying three sacrifice flies… Began his career with hits in all three games of the season opening series against Murray State (Feb. 19-21)… Went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and his first collegiate home run in the second game against the Racers (Feb. 20)… Went 3-for-4 in a win over UCF (March 9), driving in three runs, scoring three runs and recording his second collegiate double… Went 3-for-3 at the dish in the first game of a doubleheader against North Carolina A&T (March 25), powering out his third homer of the season with three RBIs, and two runs scored… Went 2-for-4 with a RBI at Ohio State (April 2)… Picked up a 3-for-4 night with a pair of runs and a run driven in at North Florida (April 5)… Had a 3-for-5 effort in a game close to home at FIU (April 13) adding a RBI and a run scored himself… Finished the series finale against Florida A&M (April 17) going 3-for-5 with three runs driven in and a double… Added 10 putouts and an assist in that series-clinching win over the Rattlers… Produced a season-best four hits in four plate appearances, including a season-high two home runs, with three runs, three RBIs and a double in the series finale victory to complete a series sweep at North Carolina A&T (May 1)… Registered a stretch of four consecutive games with a home run from May 14 through May 23… Ended the season with a 10-game hitting streak (May 10 through June 4)… Collected a 3-for-5 day against Savannah State (May 14), adding a home run, a double and scoring twice while driving in three runs… Began the MEAC Tournament with a three-run homer with two walks in a win over Coppin State (May 19)… Went 3-for-5 in a win over Norfolk State (May 20) in the Wildcats’ second game of the MEAC Tournament, producing a home run, two RBIs and three runs scored… Had two hits in four appearances in the MEAC title game win over Norfolk State (May 24) in Salisbury, Maryland… Picked up a double and scored a run against Florida (June 3) in the NCAA Gainesville [Fla.] Regional… Went 1-for-4 with a run against Georgia Tech the following day in the NCAA Regional…

Prepped at Pembroke Pines Charter High School in his hometown of Pembroke Pines, Florida… Helped his team to a record of 19-5-1 in his senior year… Team went 4-0 in district play… Two-year starter and one of the top producers in home runs and RBIs… Named MVP of the Steve Georgiadias Memorial Tournament… Finished his senior year batting .342 with 34 runs driven in and 20 runs scored… Named to the Sun-Sentinel Class 8A-7A-6A First Team…
