Sandra Booker enters her 22nd year at
Bethune-Cookman University and 16th as Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator. As a part of the senior management team, she coordinates day-to-day operations of the department including budget management, provides leadership in game day operations, and oversight of the women's sports teams.Booker is a tremendous mentor and motivator and is known for providing insightful wisdom and advice to all of the student-athletes at B-CU. She often is the voice of reason in issues requiring conflict resolution.
As an administrator Ms. Booker has represented the university on the conference and national level as a chairperson on several conference wide championship committees and also as a member of the NCAA Division I Women's basketball committee. She serves in a variety of leadership capacities on the campus as well.
Prior to her current role, Booker was the head women's basketball coach for the B-CU Lady Wildcats for six seasons, leading her teams to consecutive winning seasons from 2001-03. She was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (
MEAC) Coach of the Year in 2003. She received the 2006 Athletic Director's Award for outstanding leadership on campus and in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
Before coming to
Bethune-Cookman, she was the head women's basketball coach at Palm Beach Community College for seven years, where she compiled a winning coaching record and was Coach of The Year five times. She also coached at the University of Central Florida, the University of Buffalo, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
A native of
Cinnaminson (East
Riverton), New Jersey, Booker earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from The Richard Stockton State College located in Pomona, New Jersey and completed her Master's Degree in Transformative Leadership at
Bethune-Cookman University in 2010. She currently resides in
Deltona and is the proud parent to her daughter, Mya.
