Father, Fernando, was a relief pitcher who spent time in minor league ball with the Yankees, Mariners, and Pirates. Also spent time in the Chinese Professional Baseball League and Mexican League.
Mother, Naila, ran track & field for the University of Puerto Rico Bayamon.
Brother, Fernando, played volleyball at the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras.
Sister, Nahira, ran track & field at the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras.
