The daughter of George and Shari Redmon, Kiara was born October 29, 1991 in Houston, Texas...Chose B-CU over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Alabama-Birmingham, Santa Clara, UMKC and San Diego, because, "from my visit, I already felt as if I’d been at B-CU for years. It had an amazing family atmosphere and a unity among students that you wouldn’t feel anywhere else"...Her father played football at Stephen F. Austin (1983-87), and Kiara cites him as her biggest athletic influence because, “as a college athlete himself, he had a lot of success at SFA and won a championship. He inspires me to have the same, if not more, success that he did”...her sister Katelynn Redmon played two seasons of basketball at Gulf Coast State College and cousin, Henry Bugat, wrapped up his basketball playing career at Baylor in 2009...While at B-CU, her athletic goals are to win a MEAC Championship and go to the NCAA Tournament …Kobe Bryant is her favorite athlete, because “he’s the greatest to ever do it.” Redmon loves his game and has admired his game since she was little...Notes her most prized possession as her car, Black Beauty…She is majoring in Biology at Bethune-Cookman and wants to use her degree to go on to medical school and become an anesthesiologist.
