DAYTONA BEACH, FLa. - The Lady Wildcats honored the program's returning alumni as they pulled ahead late in the game to take control and go on to defeat the Lady Hornets of Delaware State in today's Homecoming game. Although DSU jumped out to an early double-digit lead, and held it throughout most of the game, the Lady Wildcats kept their heads and hearts in the game and took the lead with only few minutes remaining. B-CU held on to win on the power of crucial, made free throws, coming out on top 65-55.

In the early going of this afternoon's game, the outcome didn't look positive for the Lady Wildcats as the Lady Hornets jumped out to a 10-point lead with just under eight minutes passed in the first half. DSU led by double-digits for the majority of the first half, pushing out to as much as a 15 point lead. The Lady Wildcats kept their heads in the game and kept fighting down the deficit, going into halftime trailing 27-37. It was frighteningly similar to the defensive lockdown that DSU put on B-CU in Dover last month, holding the Lady Wildcats to one of their lowest first-half totals.

However, coming out of the locker-room, the Lady Wildcats flipped it on DSU, holding the MEAC's #2 team to their lowest second half output of the season. For the first ten minutes of the second half, play continued in the status quo, with DSU maintaining a double-digit lead, but the Lady Wildcats staying in the fight. However, with 10:40 remaining on the clock, the Lady Wildcats shut down the Lady Hornet attack and went on the offensive, making an 18-2 run to claim the lead and control of the momentum. DSU kept the difference within two scores for the next couple of minutes, but the Lady Wildcats played solid for the last three minutes of the game, including going 7-8 from the free throw line in that span (22-28 for the game), and only allowing one point by DSU in the last three minutes. After being down by 15 in the first half, B-CU held DSU to 18 points in the second half to go on to win 65-55.

Jasmine Daniels took over in that area, grabbing three steals. Sarah Bolden had a huge night on the boards, grabbing 15 rebounds, limiting DSU's attack with 12 defensive rebounds. One Wildcat who was instrumental in the comeback over DSU was Euneshia Proctor, who finished with eight points, three rebounds, and two steals, despite leaving the game in the midst of the rally due to an injury.

The Lady Wildcats return to action on Monday, as they rematch with Maryland Eastern Shore on Monday, Feb. 23 in Moore Gymnasium. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
