DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Sophomore Wildcat Track & Field athlete Ronnie Ash heads out to take on the challenge of being among the national elite in the hurdles, as he is performing at the adidas Track Classic, May 16, at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. The meet features some of the best athletes from across the globe, from more than two dozen nations, and Ash looks to make his mark against top-caliber competition on national television.

The meet is slated to be broadcast live on ESPN2 (Brighthouse Channels 30 and 1330 in HD). Though race times are not currently known. The broadcast will air 8-10 pm on Saturday, May 16. Ash will be competing in his signature outdoor event, the 110m Hurdles.

Ronnie Ash was the 2009 Indoor NCAA Champion in the 60m Hurdles. In the outdoor 110m Hurdles, at the 5th week of the season, Ash is currently ranked 15th in the USA overall, and 6th in the NCAA rankings heading in to the post season. Ash heads the Bethune-Cookman University Men's Track and Field team, which currently ranks 45th in the Nation and at the top of the HBCUs. He currently holds the MEAC meet record, and is the two-time defending MEAC Champion in the 110m Hurdles.

Additionally, Ash is a member of USATF (United States of America Track & Field); this membership allows collegiate athletes to qualify based on performances, and receive invitations to a series of meets. The adidas Track Classic is just one of many events which Ash has received invitation by time qualification.

The adidas Track Classic has developed a reputation as one of the best track and field meets in the country and this year's edition, slated for May 16th, promises to deliver the world's top talent and fastest times to Carson's Home Depot Center. Stay tuned to www.BCCathletics.com for more information following Ronnie's performance at the meet.
