NORFOLK, Va. - Bethune-Cookman added conference weekly honor number two on the season as officials from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) released the weekly awards Monday, naming Sven Hurd as MEAC Co-Special Teams Player of the Week. It is the second MEAC weekly award for Hurd, after winning the Rookie of the Week last year in week one.

The Pensacola native had a big day this past weekend, setting a new single-game school record for kick scoring with 16 total points against Fort Valley State, breaking a 22 year old mark (previously held by Dennis Daniels, who had 15 against South Carolina State on October 14, 1989) with 7-of-7 PATs and field goal kicks of 37, 31, and 37 yards.  On kickoffs, Hurd averaged 62.7 yards on 10 attempts, including three inside the five yard-line.

It was a big week conference-wide, as Hurd shares the honor this week with Norfolk State's Ryan Estep and South Carolina State's Blake Erickson.

So far this season, the B-CU redshirt sophomore has hit 24-of-25 PAT's and is 5-of-8 on field goals with a long of 42 yards.

The Wildcats are preparing hard in the short week, as they head up to Norfolk, Va. to take on the current league-leading Spartans on Norfolk State in a Thursday night matchup on ESPNU at 7:30 p.m.
