DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Bethune-Cookman shot a final round of 319 and finished ninth at the LPGA Xavier Invitational Sunday.

The Lady Wildcats (951) trailed tournament champion Old Dominon's winning score of 904 by 47 shots. B-CU did post the highest birdie total of the 14-team field with 27, two more than Louisana Monroe.

Andrea Orozco shot her third round of 78 Sunday to finish the 54-hole event tied for 13th at 234, 10 shots behind medalist Lacey Fears of Mercer.

Patrizia Trevisan (78-79-80 237) tied for 23rd while Estefania Acosta (78-81-79 238) tied for 25th. Jennifer Hide (81-83-82 246) and Marie Bergelin (87-79-84 250) tied for 42nd and 48th, respectively.

Acosta and Hide led B-CU in birdies with seven each, while Bergelin posted six. Acosta's 3.08 average on the par three holes was third-best in the tournament.
