Wildcats Football Celebrates 2014 MEAC Title

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Bethune-Cookman football team was honored by the B-CU Department of Athletics on Saturday evening, as the 2014 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Co-Champions celebrated with their annual end-of-year banquet and awards ceremony at the Hilton Daytona Beach Resort/Ocean Walk Village Hotel on beachside in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Several videos, including the Top 10 plays of the year as voted on by fans through the B-CU CatEye Network Instagram page, were debuted from the award-winning CatEye Network team, led by Darian McCaskill. An awards ceremony followed with special recognition given to several student-athletes and support staff members who gave their all during the 2014 campaign. The awards were given out from the B-CU coaching staff support staff and athletic administration.

The video package concluded with a photo montage showing several student-athletes as children, as gathered from their family members.

Jeff Fagan, Chief of Staff/Director of Operations for B-CU Football, had the pleasure of introducing to everyone the new head coach for the Wildcats, Terry Sims. For Sims, it was his first public speaking appearance since being named head coach at a press conference last month.

Sims delighted the crowd with his expectations for the 2015 campaign, which will be his first as a collegiate head coach, and urged fans to support the Wildcats as he announced that B-CU will open the 2015 season at the University of Miami on Labor Day weekend in Miami Gardens, Florida.

The next event for B-CU Football will be the national signing day bash on the evening of Wednesday, Feb. 4. A time and location for the annual event will be announced in the days to come. The complete 2015 schedule will be completely released at that time as well.
