Bethune-Cookman Ready for Series at No. 3 Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bethune-Cookman Baseball is set to finish up six games in seven days this weekend, traveling to face the No. 3 Louisville Cardinals at Jim Patterson Stadium. The three-game series begins Friday, April 24, at 6 p.m.

For Bethune-Cookman, the weekend series marks the first-ever meeting between the Wildcats and Cardinals in any sport.

Bethune-Cookman-Louisville Series History
• This will be the first-ever meeting between Bethune-Cookman and Louisville.

Noting the Wildcats
• Bethune-Cookman will be playing its fourth, fifth and sixth games in seven days when visiting the Louisville Cardinals.
• In facing two nationally-ranked teams this week/weekend, Bethune-Cookman last defeated a ranked foe in No. 13 Miami (Fla.) a season ago on the strength of a 7-3 decision in Coral Gables, Florida.
• Freshman pitcher Joseph Calamita has allowed just two earned runs all season, seeing action in 16 games and across 19 innings on the campaign.
• Bethune-Cookman is suffering its worst non-conference results since 1993, holding just a 2-23 record against teams outside of the MEAC.
Austin Garcia has been tearing up opponents since returning to the lineup 14 games ago. He is batting a team-leading .326 on the year, and carries a team-high .457 slugging percentage into the weekend series.
• Nathan Bond owns a team second-best .308 average on the campaign, while sitting at a perfect 3-of-3 in stolen bases. He is also second on the team in on-base percentage (.397).
• In facing Louisville, the Cardinals represent the first ACC series for the Wildcats since taking 2-of-3 against Miami in 2009.
