@Cookmantrack Set For Pepsi Florida Relays, ERAU

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Thirteen Bethune-Cookman athletes will compete in the Pepsi Florida Relays at the University of Florida  while the remainder of the team stays in town for the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic.

Defending long champion Kenneth Fisher leads the Wildcat contingent that includes Ricy Brown, Angelo Cabrera, Kareem Fair, Christopher Jackson, Malik Lewis, Justin Martin, Jonathan Moore, Demetrius Rooks, Michael Tiller, Nicholas William and Jimel Wright.

Fisher's winning leap of  7.69m (25-02.75 ft.) last year was the nation's seventh best long jump at the time and set the tone for his Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship.

Banks won his 110 meter hurdles heat and finished 23rd overall. Brown had a strong showing in the 800.

The Wildcats will field teams in the sprint medley and 4X100 events.

Meanwhile, back in Daytona Beach, Bethune-Cookman will be one of 28 college teams and 38 high school squads competing at nearby Embry-Riddle. The meet runs through Saturday.

Follow @Cookmantrack for updates from both meets.
