DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman's Barry Kimbrough has been named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week, it was announced today.
The senior from Waukegan, Ill. registered a pair of first place victories at the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic with a mark of 15.31m (50.22 ft.) in the shot put and a throw of 47.47m (155.7 ft.) in the discus.
He now has three event victories in the outdoor season.
Kimbrough was third in the shot put at the MEAC indoor championships back in February and fourth in the discus at last year's outdoor championships.
The defending MEAC champions are at two meets this weekend, travelling to Jacksonville on Friday for the UNF Twilight Meet and Saturday at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational hosted by the University of Miami.
