SAVANNAH, Georgia – Bethune-Coookman volleyball made it two-straight in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play, as the Wildcats swept Savannah State for the second time this season, 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-14) Friday, Oct. 21 in Savannah, Georgia.
This week's MEAC Rookie of the Week,
Alana Handy, dominated the contest finishing with a team-best 14 kills and 15 digs, collecting her seventh kill/dig double-double of the season for the Wildcats.
Trailing Handy,
Alondra Bautista collected 10 kills on the offense end, while Normaire Rolon Soto picked up 11 digs for BCU,
Junior middle,
Rakaya Neely added five Wildcat kills, on seven attempts (.571), with four blocks, while junior
Phalen Clark paced the BCU offense finishing with 39 assists and eight digs.
The Wildcats return to the hardwood on Sunday, Oct. 23 as Bethune-Cookman looks for the season sweep over South Carolina State at 1 p.m., in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
