FORT MYERS, Florida – Bethune-Cookman volleyball dropped its final non-conference match of the season as the Wildcats fell 3-1 (25-20, 25-16, 25-27, 25-19) at Florida Gulf Coast in Fort Myers, Florida during the season rematch.
Alana Handy and
Alondra Bautista led the Wildcats on both ends of the floor, each collecting a double-double during the setback. Handy earned her sixth-straight, finishing with 23 kills and 13 digs while Bautista picked up 15 kills and 12 digs.
Additionally on the offensive end,
Phylecia Armstrong collected 10 kills.
Pacing the Wildcat offense junior
Phalen Clark dished 48 assists with seven digs and three blocks.
Defensively,
Normarie Rolon Soto led the Wildcats with 18 digs,
Ajsha Davie added 10 and Armstrong finished with three blocks.
The Wildcats return to action on Sunday, Oct. 30 as Bethune-Cookman hosts cross-state rival, Florida A&M during a 3 p.m., match at Warner Christian Academy.
