JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Senior
Normarie Rolon Soto dug her way into the Bethune-Cookman volleyball history books during a 3-1 (25-23, 25-15, 24-26, 25-13) setback at North Florida on Tuesday, Oct. 4 in Jacksonville.
The Wildcat libero took over the top spot at BCU with most career digs, after her 16 in the match brought her career total to 1,192, surpassing Jennifer Jimenez' 1,186.
Offensively during the setback, the Wildcat's were led by rookie
Alana Handy's 15 kills, followed by nine from
Rakaya Neely.
Junior
Phalen Clark finished with her sixth double-double of her Wildcat career after leading the team with 29 assists and 19 digs, while
Phylecia Armstrong finished the night with her second-straight eight block match performance and
Jessica Emile added a team second-best six blocks.
Two Ospreys finished with double-doubles led by Gabby O'Connell's 23 kills and 17 digs, trailed by Carinne Turners 10 kills and 17 digs.
Pacing the UNF offense Madilyn McCarty finished with a match-best 50 assists.
The Wildcats return to Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action on Friday, Oct. 7 as the Wildcats head to North Carolina to face the North Carolina A&T Aggies in Greensboro, at 7 p.m.
