Rookie Carries @BCUVolleyball during NCCU Sweep

DURHAM, North Carolina – Rookie Alana Handy led the Bethune-Cookman volleyball offense as the Wildcats swept North Carolina Central, 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-20) Sunday, Oct. 9 at C.E. Jordan High School in Durham, North Carolina.

The Burlington, Wash., native collected a match-high 18 kills on 33 attempts with three errors, finishing with an impressive .455 hitting percentage in the Bull City.

Defensively, Chapman led the match with 13 digs and Normarie Rolon Soto added 10 while Armstrong finished with four blocks.

J'nai Higgins paced the BCU offense, finishing with 34 assists during the sweep.

Casey Curran and Kelsey Murphy led the Eagles with nine and eight kills respectively while Bree Simmons finished with 11 digs and Paige Phillips dished 21 assists.

The Wildcats return to action on Firday, Oct. 14 as Bethune-Cookman faces the defending Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Champion, Howard, on the road at 7 p.m., in Washington
