JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman dropped to 1-1 on the season as the Wildcats fell 69-63 to Jacksonville, Sunday, Nov. 13 in Swisher Gymnasium.

The Dolphins opened the game with an early 5-1 lead before an Ashanti hunt layup and Emily Williams three ball gave the Wildcats their first lead of the game at the 4:33 mark.

Hunt finished the quarter with another layup as time expired, keeping the score in favor of BCU at 14-9.

Williams and Hunt combined for all of the Wildcat's first quarter offense, scoring eight and six respectively.

Despite going up by as many as seven in the second, JU's Jasmyn Brown knocked down a trey with ten seconds left until half, cutting the Wildcat lead to one before the intermission.

At the half, Emily Williams and Hunt led BCU with eight points each, while Angel Golden added six and Kendra Cooper collected four rebounds.

The break worked in favor of the Dolphins, as JU scored 14 unanswered points late in the quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 25-7 in the third.

Trailing 53-36 after three quarters of play, a 15-4 BCU run topped by a Golden three at 2:22 mark knotted the score at 61.

Brandi Buie came in clutch for JU down the stretch, knocking down five foul shots to help seal the 69-63 victory for the Dolphins.

Four Wildcats finished in double-figures led by Golden's 14. Hunt finished with 12 points and four boards, Williams with 11 points and five assists while Cooper added 10 points, eight boards and four assists.

The Wildcats return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 16 as Bethune-Cookman travels to Stetson for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
