BATON ROUGE, La. - Bethune-Cookman women's basketball dropped its third-straight final second decision as the Wildcats fell 61-59 to Southern University, Tuesday, Nov. 22 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Louisiana's own, Kailyn Williams, finished the setback with her first double-double of her senior season, leading the Wildcats with 17 points, 13 rebounds and adding six blocked shots.
Trailing Williams, rookie Kanesha Battle stepped in the PG role for BCU, finishing with a season-best 13 points, while Ashanti Hunt pulled down ten boards and added seven points.
A game that went in favor of the Wildcats for the first three quarters, saw a fourth stanza collapse as BCU was outscored 24-to-13.
The Jaguars also dominated on the floor, forcing 21 Wildcat turnovers compared to SU's six.
Briana Green finished with a game-best 22 points, eight rebounds and three blocks for the Jags.
The Wildcats road-trip continues on Friday, Nov. 25 during a noon match-up with Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond, La.
