@CookmanTrack Splits Meets, UF Relays/Embry Spikes

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Track and Field team of Bethune-Cookman University will split meets this weekend. The Wildcats will attend the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla as well as the Embry- Riddle Spikes Classic which will take place in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Kenneth Fisher, Ed'Ricus Willams and Jonathan Moore will represent the Wildcats at the Florida Relays from April 1-2.

The Embry-Riddle Classic will take place at the on campus Track Complex.  Over 1300 athletes will be competing at the Embry-Riddle Track Complex, including a number of professionals hoping to qualify for the Summer Olympics.

LAST TIME OUT

Jonathan Moore had yet another record breaking performance in Friday's meet.  Moore set a new personal best record in the 400m run with a time of 46.48.  Not only did he set a new personal record he also took home the gold in the event.

Chris Collins set a new PR in the javelin throw with 64.79 meters.  Collins also won the event with his mark. 

Tyson Wright competed and won the 400m hurdles (53.82).

On the field Michael Tiller and Ed'Ricus Williams both won their respective events. 

Tiller leaped a distance of 15.97m in the triple jump. Williams had a mark of 2.03m to give him the win in the high jump.

The women had some strong performances by Tristie Johnson.  Johnson placed 3rd in the 100m dash with a time 11.63 seconds.  Johnson also placed 6th in the 200m dash (24.01).

The women's 4x100 relay made up of Summer Brown, Sade McCreath-Tardiel, Quamecha Morrison, and Tristie Johnson placed third with a time of 46.21 seconds. 

Summer Brown competed placed 3rd in the triple jump with a mark of 12.02 meters.
