DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Five Bethune-Cookman football standouts who went on to play on Sundays may highlight Friday night's Athletic Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, but the gridiron greats will share the stage with a mix of coaches and contributors as well.
 
Nick Collins, Rashean Mathis, Jerry Simmons, Alvin Wyatt and the late Damion Cook will be enshrined along with eight other outstanding Wildcats at the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center at 6 p.m.
 
Joining the NFL greats will be Calvin Jackson, Marcia Pinder and Mervyl Melendez, who made their mark as coaches – Jackson and Pinder at their respective high schools in Florida and Melendez here at B-CU and at Alabama State.
 
Wildcat basketball will be honored with the induction of two former men's greats – the late Johnny Allen and Owen Harris -- and Linda Banks, a key member of a women's team that won two state championships back in the early days of the programs.
 
Also being recognized: Softball pitching great Lauren McCoy, a member of the 2005 NCAA Gainesville Regional championship team, and Rev. Isidore Williams, the iconic game day public address announcer for Wildcat football since 1975.
