DELAND, Florida – Bethune-Cookman volleyball dropped its midweek match-up at crosstown foe, Stetson, as the Wildcats fell 3-2 (20-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-17, 15-19) Tuesday, Sept. 20 in DeLand, Florida.
Sophomore
J'nai Higgins and juniors
Phalen Clark and
Alondra Bautista all finished with double-doubles during the five-set match.
Higgins collected a team-best 26 assists and 24 digs, Clark finished with 14 assists and ten digs while Baustista earned 14 kills and 13 digs.
Senior
Phylecia Armstrong added eight Wildcat kills and a season-best seven blocks during the setback.
Also on the defensive end,
Normarie Rolon Soto added 16 digs as
Alana Handy finished with 12.
The Hatters were led by Eva Deisa's 20 kills and 15 digs, while Roxy Lake paced the offense with 35 assists.
Defensively for Stetson, McKenna Foster collected 27 digs and Shelby Connors blocked nine BCU attempts.
