SOUTH DAYTONA, Florida – Bethune-Cookman volleyball moved to 1-0 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play after sweeping Savannah State, 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-22) to open league play, Friday, Sept. 23 in Warner Christian Academy Gymnasium.
Senior
Phylecia Armstrong led the BCU offense during her final MEAC opening game finishing with a team-best 11 kills on 17 attempts (.588) while collecting a match-high six blocks.
Alondra Bautista also added 11 kills for the Wildcats with eight digs and three blocks.
Junior
Phalen Clark paced the BCU offense with 23 assists, while on the defensive end
Normarie Rolon Soto headed the Wildcats with 11 digs, trailed by
Ajsha Davie's 10.
Bethune-Cookman returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 25 as the Wildcats welcome South Carolina State to Warner Christian Academy Gym at 1 p.m.
