DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – It is becoming an all-too-familiar release, but Bethune-Cookman Director of Strength & Conditioning
Corliss Fingers has received another honor from the NCAA. The North Carolina native has been accepted into the NCAA Women Coaches Academy.
Â
Fingers, now in her third year at the helm of the BCU Strength & Conditioning program for all 17 varsity sports of the Maroon and Gold in Daytona Beach, received the notification just over a week ago from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Â
She has been selected to attend the NCAA's Women Coaches Academy (WCA) on a scholarship provided by the NCAA Office of Inclusion. Included in this scholarship is a free 1-year membership with the Alliance.
Â
The WCA will take place at Hilton Denver Inverness in Englewood, Colorado.
Â
The Women Coaches Academy (WCA), hosted in partnership between the Alliance of Women Coaches and the NCAA, is a 4-day educational training open to NCAA coaches of all experience levels that offers non-sport-specific program management strategies, with a special focus on philosophy development and building your skills and knowledge about planning, communication, legal issues, ethics, hiring, supervising staff, conflict resolution, learning styles and achieving success.
