DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman looks to stay near the top, or even get to the top, of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference standings this weekend as the Lady Wildcats host Delaware State Saturday at 2 p.m. and Howard at 5:30 p.m. Monday on Coach Cy Court in Historic Moore Gym.
The Lady Wildcats and Howard enter the weekend with identical records of 10-9 overall and 6-1 in MEAC play, a half-game behind first place Hampton.
Bethune-Cookman was last year's regular season champion and earned the No. 1 seed for the MEAC tournament in Norfolk, Va.
LADY WILDCAT UPDATE: The Lady Wildcats are eighth in the nation in field goal percentage defense – opponents are shooting 34.1 percent from the field against them … Bethune-Cookman is also 25
th in the national in scoring defense (56.6) and leading the MEAC in that category …

Ashanti Hunt is averaging 12.9 ppg and 7.0 rpg in conference play …
Taylor Houston is shooting 82.4 percent from the line (14-17) in her last seven games …Both Houston (40.9) and Cooper (40.0) are over 40 percent from three-point range in league play.
ABOUT DELAWARE STATE: The Hornets (3-19,2-7) have won two of their last five. Najai Pollard, the conference scoring leader, is averaging 18.6 ppg, followed by Mikah Alridge at 13.4.
ABOUT HOWARD: The Bison are averaging 66.9 points on offense, second in the league on to Hampton's 70.4. Te'Shya Heslip is scoring 16.3 ppg and leads the league with an average of 5.2 assists. Sydni Johnson is averaging 11.5 points an outing.
